What am I missing?

Apparently the Daytona 500 is the "Superbowl of racing". For the life of me I cannot understand the popularity of NASCAR, especially on television. I could see it being okay in person since you can watch the whole track unlike F1 where you only see a small fraction of what is going on. But really, hours of left turns?

For cool televised racing, check out the World Rally Championship on Speed.

Hey, Mr. Hand, is that your Hand on the Wheel?

Looks like me in my '96 blue Subaru Impreza on some dirtroad in Eastern Connecticut... minus the rear wing, hood scoop, dayglo paint....gps maybe...

aah, fun was, until a Ford Explorer ran a light and retired that ride.

Ugh, hate to hear stories of Subarus getting smacked. That isn't my car although I do own the closest North American version that's available (and love it).
